Honey Jade and Bronze Rosary

This rosary reminds me of sunshine. What a way to welcome the Lenten season.

Anyway, I cannot take all the credit for this. I did a custom order with these beautiful beads, and I had to order extra to make a rosary in pale yellow!

The AVEs are 8mm honey jade and look like creamy butter. The Paters are Tensha beads with a beautiful yellow rose on each. Each Pater is followed by antique golfd bead caps and a small button pearl. The bronze cross is just beautiful, and I paired it with a simple center that I thought worked well. I have never done a rosary in yellow, but I must say this one looks like pure sunshine!Rosary comes with a satin pouch for storage!

Hello Fellow Rosary Makers and friends. This is only the second sacramental I have made in "solid Copper". A few years back I designed the Chaplet of Mercy and Forgiveness in solid Copper. I happened at that time to find a solid copper crucifix and rosary center. Since that time and only till recently have I had the opportunity to come across such items as copper crucifixes and centers.

My good friend Kate of Native Hills Rosaries out of Texas has begun to cast her own items. She is casting in sterling, white bronze, bronze and copper. When I saw some of her newly casted items for sale I just had to purchase a few. I have been collecting copper beads, bead caps, findings, etc.. made of solid copper and just waiting for someone to begin offering centers, medals and crucifixes in copper.

Here is my first rosary in copper. Kate casted the beautiful St. Benedict crucifix and the Sacred Heart Of Mary Rosary Center. The Pater Nosters are a gorgeous Lampwork and the Aves are natural Russ Amazonite in 8 MM.

When the new pieces arrived in the mail I couldn't wait to get started on my new copper sacramental. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed creating it. Take the time to check out her other items- you will not be disappointed.

Black Onyx Rosary with Sterlling Crucifix

This rosary is made with 8mm beautiful black shiny onyx as the AVE beads. Inbetween each bead are two small silver spacer beads leading to the Pater beads.

The Pater beads are beautiful Bali-like pewter beads that are very distinctive. Each is followed by a 4mm button pearl for emphasis.

The crucifix on this rosary is the focal item. It is beautiful sterling silver with some diamond cutting. It measures 2 1/2 inches. The centerpiece is pewter and is an ornate divine mercy centerpiece.

Fancy Jasper Rosary with Bronze Celtic Crucifix

I love the colors of Fancy Jasper, and I always associate it with a Celtic crucifix because of all the colors of green. The AVE beads in this rosary are faceted Fancy Jasper 8mm. The gorgeous Paters are fired dark red agate.
Agate is a common gemstone and used a lot in my rosaries. These lovely rondelles have been fired in a kiln to make the matt crackle finish, and I think they go great with all the colors of fancy jasper.
The crucifix is a bronze Celtic crucifix, and the center is a traditional miraculous crucifix. The crucifix has a beautiful patina, and you can either leave it, or use a polishing clothe to bring out a litttle more gold.
This is really a handsome rosary and can be used for men or women. Rosary comes packaged with its own satin pouch.

The Ave beads are mutli-colored fired agate round gems with teal being the dominate color with bands of copper. The Paters are diamond shaped etched copper beads. Turquoise seed beads complement both the Ave’s and Paters. Each Ave bead-set and Pater bead-set are individually wire-wrapped in 20 gauge copper wire. The centerpiece is handmade by the artist and is a one of a kind piece consisting of an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, centered in a copper cabochon pendant. The Pater Noster's (our Father) are 12 MM Lantern Style Variegated Royal Blue Agate and 10 MM hand crafted ornate Bronze beads. The Ave's (Hail Marys) are 8 MM Pale Yellow natural Jade. This sacramental has a very antiqued Victorian look to it.

All components are Bronze. The beautiful rosary center is a beautiful representation of Saint Teresa Of Avila. Saint Teresa is more often than not represented as holding an open book with the dove of the Holy Spirit above her head in flight. The beautiful crucifix adds the final touches to this beautiful devotional sacramental. All medals are recasts of century past religious medals. Lots of Bronze dress this wonderful sacramental. Rosary in Green Garnet and Bronze

Green garnet in 8mm beads made up the AVE beads in this rosary. They are a beautiful shade of green with both transparent and opaque stones.
The PATER beads are large white turquoise (howlite) rondelles. These particular stones are beautiful with lovely dark brown matrix running through them. Each PATER bead is encased in antique gold bali-like bead caps and a small button pearl for emphasis. In between all the beads I have used bronze seed beads.
The crucifix on this rosary is a large 2-1/2" bronze crucifix, and the center is a simple cross.
This would make a lovely and memorable gift for anyone whether female or male.
This is a Heirloom rosary both for the quality of the stones, and the quality of the workmanship. It is a rosary that will last through the ages!

Sara will be Confirmed this Saturday, 16 Oct at Holy Angels Cathedral in Gary Indiana. She chose the Confirmation name Catherine after St. Catherine Of Bologna- Sara is also a young artist. She stated she liked medium blue in color- so I chose the Medium Blue Dragon Vein stones in 8 MM for the Aves and 12 MM Golden Agate for the Pater Nosters.

St. Benedict Rosary at Laude Arts and Gifts

St. Benedict was born in the fifth century to a wealthy family. In his early 20's, he forsook his wealth and life of ease to dedicate his life to God. His holiness became well known and he was invited to join a monastic order. His rule was too aesthetic for the order and the monks tried to get rid of him by poisoning him. Needless to say, they were unsuccessful in their attempt. He later went on to reform monasticism. To this day, his Rule is followed in Benedictine communities all over the world. His medal brings God's blessing to its owner and is a protection against evil.

The Paters in this rosary are 60 year old vintage twisted lampwork beads from Japan. They are beautiful beads, but they remind me of bite sized pieces of licorice. :) The are complimented beautifully by the Avé beads which are 8mm white turquoise. White turquoise is also known as howlite. The crucifix is silver colored metal with black enamel and the center is lead free pewter. This striking rosary would be a great gift for a man or a woman. Christmas Rosary from Laude Arts and Gifts

It isn't too soon to think about Christmas. The handmade lampwork Pater beads in this rosary remind me of garland. The bands of gold adventurine have been swirled onto the deep emerald green background and adorned with stylized red and white glass flowers. Because these beads are handmade, no two beads are exactly alike. These beads are quite big ranging in size from 17mm high to 20mm high.

Accenting the Pater beads are beautiful 7mm green jade Avé beads. While these beads are jade, it's possible they have been color treated because they are an emerald green rather than the usual color of nephrite jade. The crucifix and center are gold finished, lead free pewter with white enamel inlay and white simulated pearls. Hello all Rosary Makers,

My wife Kelly wanted me to make her a new rosary. She had the task of picking out all the components. She chose, Carnelian, White Tiger Eye and Swavorski Crystal for the Pater Nosters. Coffee Jasper for the Aves. The skull on the rosary is a reminder of our mortality- much like ashes are on Ash Wednesday.

I really liked the center she chose, I think it goes so well with the Penal Crucifix she chose.

We both ride Harley Davidson motorcycles. She wanted a rosary in Harley Davidson colors that we can take with us when we go on rides to the park for a bag lunch and say the rosary together.

She loves her new rosary and I wanted to share it with all of you.

Hello Fellow Rosary Makers:

Here is a pic of the rosary I recently talked about on the Etsy Rosary Guild. The one I shorted a bead in one of the decades. He has since returned it and I have made the fix. The client selected all components of this rosary. For the Pater Nosters he chose Iran Copper Turquoise, Leaf Bead Caps and Solid Brown Jasper. He bounced back and forth between Lapis and Azurite for the Aves. He finally- as you can see- settled on Lapis. He has a special devotion to St. Joseph and the Holy Family. I showed him 2 different St. Joseph centers whereas you can see the one he chose.

Handmade bronze wire wrapped five decade Catholic Rosary featuring Our Lady of Guadalupe Center. The Paters are oval and turquoise in color which harmonize the coral Ave beads. Dark bronze seed beads complement both the Ave’s and Paters. Each Ave bead-set and Pater bead-set are individually wire-wrapped in 20 gauge bronze wire. The centerpiece is handmade by the artist and is a one of a kind piece consisting of an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, centered in a bronze antique cabochon pendant. The crucifix complementing the centerpiece, is one of a kind. It is a triple cross – the bottom cross is filigree brass, with the second and third layers consisting of silver on brass, heavily plated, cast from an antique mold. This rosary will last a lifetime and can be passed from generation to generation.

Sapphire is the birthstone for September and the Avé beads in this rosary are a light sapphire color with a light AB coating. They reflect beautiful shades of pink and silver in the light. Welcome to our September Give Away Contest. This month's prize was donated by Kelly, owner of Mary's Garden on Etsy. Her Etsy ID is Kadydid. Kelly has donated a wonderful Irish Penal Rosary the value of which is $15.00. She can describe it better than I can.

This little chaplet could go by many names. It is a 'tenner', a pocket rosary, a one-decade rosary, and Irish Penal Rosary or, in the Irish, An Paidrin Beag (the Little Rosary). Whatever you choose to call it, it will serve your purpose!
I did design this 'tenner' as an Irish Penal Rosary. It is styled after the rosaries carried in Ireland in the Penal days in the 1600's, when it was illegal to be Catholic, and being caught with a rosary could mean fines, imprisonment or worse. This style of chaplet was easy to hide in a pocket or up a sleeve.
It is one decade with an Our Father bead. When saying the rosary, start by putting the ring on your thumb. For the next decade, put the ring on your forefinger, and so on. Even though there is no longer any need to hide it, it is still a convenient piece to carry.
The beads are 8mm, emerald green, Czech glass. The ring, crucifix and other metal findings are base metal and/or nickel silver. For the crucifix, I chose to use a Penal Crucifix. There are many Catholic/Christian symbols incorporated into this crucifix.

This Rosary is made with-

The Pater Nosters are 12 MM Azurite Chrysocolla Rondels and 10 MM Purple Stone.
The Aves are all natural AAA Grade 8 MM Azurite Chrysocolla. The connectors are 6 and 3 MM in size and are also Azurite Chrysocolla. This rosary is just covered with Bali Sterling Silver.

All components are .925 Solid Sterling Silver. The beautiful rosary center of Our Lady carrying the Infant Jesus is flanked on both sides with the Irish Shamrock. Written in Latin around the top is, "Mater Dei Ora Pro Nobis" which translates in English to, "Holy Mary Mother Of God Pray For Us". This same wording is contained within the Hail Mary Prayer. As you can see in one of the photos- the back of the rosary center and the crucifix are available for engraving. The crucifix is called the Penal Crucifix. During the period of time when the Irish Christians were being persecuted the Penal Crucifix was designed so it could easily be hidden in the sleeve.
