St Kateri Tekakwitha Rosary Bracelet from Laude Arts and Gifts

I've felt strongly drawn to St Kateri since the early summer when I first "discovered" her.  Her simple life and devotion to Christ have been an inspiration to me.  Also, since my great grandmother was a Native American, I am immensely proud that St Kateri is the first Native American to be canonized.   So, now I present another item in what is quickly becoming my "line" of St Kateri Tekakwitha rosaries, rosary bracelets and chaplets.  :)  If you would like to learn more about St Kateri, please visit my blog post  http://strengthen-your-brethren.blogspot.com/2012/07/st-kateri-tekakwitha-lily-of-mohawks.html

The striking Aves in this rosary bracelet are 8mm re-constituted howlite. It is turquoise colored with patches of light brown with a black matrix. They remind me of stained glass windows. The Pater bead is a 10mm wood stone bead. It really looks like wood., but is actually stone. St Kateri had a special devotion to the cross, so I used the cross extender to add length to the bracelet. St Kateri Rosary Bracelet at Laude Arts and Gifts

St Kateri Tekakwitha is the first Native American to be beatified. She was born in 1656. As young girl, she contracted small pox and her face was terribly disfigured by the disease. She converted to Catholicism as a young woman and because of this she was shunned by her tribe. She suffered greatly because of her faith. She was devoted to the Eucharist and cared for the sick and elderly. Like St. Therese, she died at the tender age of 24  After her death, the terrible scars that left her so disfigured from small pox cleared up leaving her with a smooth beautiful complexion.  She was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1980 and she will be canonized by Pope Benedict XVI on Oct 21, 2012. She is the patron of the environment and ecology.

Because of this, I chose 8mm Amazonite beads for the Aves to represent the sea and the sky and 3mm bronze spacers along with an 8mm man made African turquoise bead for the Pater to represent the earth. St Kateri Tekakwitha Rosary Bracelet

The name means water and earth...an appropriate name for the saint of the environment and ecology.  They are beautiful irregular, chunky beads. The Pater bead is 10mm Red Creek Jasper bead which gives a nice contrast to the Aqua Terra Jasper. The crucifix is silver colored metal and is stamped "ITALY" on the back. St James Rosary Carnelian and Onyx Unbreakable from Laude Arts and Gifts

The Aves in this rosary are 6mm red carnelian. These beautiful beads are a deep translucent red. Complimenting the Ave beads are 10mm black onyx beads flanked by 6.5mm onyx beads. The crucifix is the cross of the shrine of Santiago de Compostela which is the shrine that was made famous by St James the great. The shell center is also associated with Santiago de Compostela. This shrine in Spain has long been the destination of many pilgrimages and the shell has become a symbol for the pilgrims who often came to the shrine to be baptized. This handsome rosary would make a wonderful gift. This Rosary is made with-

The Pater Nosters are 12 MM Highly Polished White Ocean Coral and 7 MM AAA Grade Faceted Swiss Blue Topaz. The brilliance in this Natural Topaz is absolutely stunning! The Aves are done in
 8 MM Highly Polished White Ocean Coral.

All components are .925 Solid Sterling Silver. The wire used to wrap this rosary is Argenium Sterling Silver. The beauty of Argenium is the very slow tarnish process.The beautiful rosary center is a gorgeous full portrait of our Blessed Mother in full glory. Above the second Pater Noster and before the center is the Sacred Heart Of Jesus. The unique crucifix (look closely) has the sun on one side and the moon on the other. The sun and the moon represent man and woman that were present at the Crucifixion.

All bead caps and connectors are made of Bali Silver, one at a time (hand made). The beautiful rosary center and crucifix are museum quality antique pieces that have been recast in solid silver. Additional photos click here

The latest addition to my 'Ultimates' line--gem quality Aquamarine and rich Sterling Silver with White Turquoise Paters in a wire-wrapped, unbreakable Rosary.  Everything about this Rosary is the highest quality--and best work--I can offer, from the low-tarnish Argentium 925 Sterling Crucifix, medal and center (and wire) to the extravagantly double capped Paters.  Each plump 8x6mm Aquamarine rondelle is also capped in solid sterling, for a strong silver presence against the clear, sparkling gemstones!
