An Interesting Mix…. Wood, Glass, & Stone by Rosaries by Speziale

Have you ever had an idea pop into your head out of nowhere.  You know… the kind that just keeps “poking” at you even when you are trying to do other things?   This rosary was the result of one of those ideas.   It was something I just had to make…How goofy is that?  LOL. :)


This ”one of a kind” stone, glass, & wood rosary featured a variety of beads.  The Aves (Hail Mary beads) were made using 6mm round wood jasper stone and matte finished clear Czech glass faceted beads.  Using the matte finish on the glass allowed the color of the stone to take center stage.  The Pater (Our Father) beads were made from 7.5mm round, carved Olivewood beads from Bethlehem.   The center was an Italian silver plate, traditional Miraculous medal.   And the crucifix was my Italian silver plate basic inlaid crucifix.    I did give the option to use one of the other crucifixes if someone preferred them.  Oh, and the wire and chain were 20 gauge silver plate.  The rosary ended up being about 20 inches in length.

Mother of Sorrows Rosary from Holy Name Rosaries

New listed at HolyNameRosaries.com  In this rosary, Our Mother of Sorrows is comforted by midnight blue beads that have flecks of metal that sparkle like the stars in the night sky. . The Aves are 6mm blue goldstone beads and the Pater beads are12mm blue goldstone beads. Goldstone is actually a misnomer because it is not stone. It is actually dark blue transparent glass that copper and silver foil flecks have been mixed into. The result is a beautiful, sparkly bead that dances in the light. I've have tried my best to capture the sparkly nature of these beads, but sadly the sparkles look like white specs in the beads.

The lead free pewter center is one of the prettiest I have ever seen. It features an image honoring Our Blessed Mother. It has a subtle luminosity that gives depth and beauty to the image. The intricate Trinity crucifix depicts the Father, Son and Holy Spirit both descending into and emanating out of the Eucharist. Robert's Heirloom Rosaries presents- Hot Off The Bead Board! Rosary of The Sacred Heart/Our Lady Of Fatima

The beautiful Tensha's in 12 MM make up the Pater Nosters. The Gorgeous Jasper Peri-dot

(which are quite unique in color) are 8 MM in size for the Aves.

The rosary center - on one side is the Sacred Heart Of Jesus and the other side is the portrait of Our Lady Of Fatima.

Immediately below the center is a large heart with a pair of doves gracing the piece. This is a nice stop during recitation of the rosary to add additional intentions. The beautiful crucifix adds the final touches to this sleek wonderful to pray rosary.
