Robert's Heirloom Rosaries- New Listing! Three Hail Mary Devotion to The Blessed Virgin Mary (Stella Maris)
Three Hail Mary’s Devotion To The Blessed Virgin Mary
During an apparition to St. Gertrude, the Blessed Mother promised, "To any soul who faithfully prays the Three Hail Mary’s I will appear at the hour of death in a splendor of beauty so extraordinary that it will fill that soul with heavenly consolation."
We don't need beads to count to three! but we might need a reminder to take the time in a busy day for this simple prayer.
Construction and facts about your devotional sacramental:
This chaplet is made with- 12mm 3 Tones graduating colors of Lampwork and 6 mm Medium Blue Swavorski Bi-Cone Crystals. The colors of the Sea were used in this chaplet.
The Crucifix, and unique 2 sided Stella Maris medal are Solid Bronze. These beautiful pieces are antique pieces that have been recast to continue enjoying the beauty of these past century devotional items. The findings: bead caps and spacers are also solid bronze.
Our Lady, Star of the Sea is an ancient title for the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ. The words Star of the Sea are a translation of the Latin title Stella Maris, first reliably used with relation to the Virgin Mary in the ninth century. The title was used to emphasize Mary's role as a sign of hope and as a guiding star for Christians. Under this title, the Virgin Mary is believed to intercede as a guide and protector of those who travel or seek their livelihoods on the sea. This aspect of the Virgin has led to Our Lady, Star of the Sea, being named as patroness of the Catholic missions to seafarers, the Apostleship of the Sea, and to many coastal churches being named Stella Maris or Mary, Star of the Sea. This devotion towards Our Lady with this ancient title is very popular throughout the Catholic world. This is considered an “unbreakable chaplet.” -as each bead is individually wire wrapped and should never come apart. However- dropping it on a hard surface may crack the beads. You should always take great care of this sacramental. For more info and additional photos click here.

Okay…here’s the scoop! The Etsy Rosary Guild is a group of artisans who make beautiful, handcrafted rosaries and jewelry. We are dedicated to using our art as a witness to our faith as well as using it to help support ourselves and our families. Naturally, we want to let the world in on what we are doing, so we have decided to have a monthly give away as a means of advertising our creations. We started doing this in June and so far, our give aways have been enormously successful. We are hoping that you would like to get in on the action.
You can enter as many times as you wish…no purchase necessary. However, if you find that you would like to buy something, we won’t stop you!
Here are the rules. We’ve tried to make it as simple as possible.
To enter, first visit Mary’s shop, Faithful Servant Arts, and take a look at all the beautiful items she has made. Find your favorite item and come back and tell us about it in a comment on the blog. That’s it! You’re done…if you want to be.Please make sure to leave your email address on each comment that you make in the form of JaneDoe (at) anywhere.com. That way we will be able to contact you if you are the lucky winner. Sadly, because we can not contact you without an email address, entries that do not have an email address will be ineligible to win.
If you would like to make more entries after visiting Mary’s shop, here’s how you can do it.
• Enter one (or more) of the member’s shops listed in the side bar on the right, find something you like and come back here and tell us about it in a comment on the blog. Remember that each comment counts as an entry, so make separate comments for each shop that you visit. That way you can rack up more entries.
• Sign up to follow our blog. You probably want to do this anyway so that you can learn about all that we are doing and keep an eye out for our next give away. If you already follow our blog (thank you), just leave your user ID in a comment.
• Sign up to follow Mary’s blog, come back here and tell us about it.
• Become a Facebook Fan of The Etsy Rosary Guild Team. Leave a comment back here with your Facebook name. Existing fans just leave your Facebook ID here in a separate comment.
• Mark Mary’s store as your favorite on Etsy and come back here and tell us about it.
• Sign up to follow Mary on Twitter, come back here and tell us about it.
• Blog about our give away on your blog…or anyone else’s… and come back here and put a link to the post in a comment.
• Refer our Give Away Contest and our Blog to a friend. Ask them to leave a comment on the contest saying that “(your user ID) referred them. This will give them an entry and will give you yet another entry. Two for the price of one ain’t bad!
Just a reminder: Remember to leave your email address in the form of JaneDoe (at) anywhere.com. That way we can contact you if you are the lucky winner.
Also remember…Comments = Entries! Yaaaay! So leave as many comments as you like. Just click on the word “Comments” at the bottom center of the post and you’re ready to go.
Oh yes, this goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway. Guild members are not eligible to win. While this bums most of us out completely, it means y’all get more chances to win.
Thanks so much for taking the time to give us a look-see and thank you for entering.
Remember the contest will end at noon on Sunday, May 22, 2011. Winner will be chosen on Random.org

St. James was one of only three apostles whom Jesus selected to bear witness to his Transfiguration. The Acts of the Apostles records that Agrippa the 1st had James executed by the sword. He is the only apostle whose martyrdom is recorded in the New Testament. He is traditionally believed to be the first of the 12 apostles martyred for his faith (c.f., Acts 12:1-2).
Some suggest that his martyrdom may have been caused by his fiery temper, for which he and his brother earned the nickname "Sons of Thunder" (Mark 3:17).
