Christmas Novena - 9 days

It is a long time tradition in the church to begin a Christmas Novena on the feast of St. Andrew (Nov 30).  The beautiful words of this Novena help one meditate on the miracle of the birth of Christ throughout the Advent season.  Although the Feast of St. Andrew has past, we are now 9 days until Christmas Eve.  Therefore, if you have not already begun the Christmas Novena, now would be a great time to start a 9-day novena. Say the prayer 15 times each day meditating on the nativity of Our Lord and ask the Infant Jesus for the particular favor you desire for Christmas.

 Christmas Novena
Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.

(It is piously believed that whoever recites the above prayer fifteen times a day from the feast of St. Andrew, on November 30th, until Christmas will obtain what is asked.)

Here is one of the Christmas Novena Chaplets which I made for this Novena. (Also known as the St. Andrew Chaplet) The Purple Jasper beads are befitting the liturgical colors of the Advent season.

This Novena Chaplet was so popular amongst my friends that it sold out before I could list it in my Graceful Rosaries shop!
